[Updated] No platform fees in 2020

We all know times are tough right now.

And of course that includes schools and arts programs, many of whom are unsure what next year will bring.

  • Many schools face budget cuts in the wake of economic downturn.
  • Arts programs are scrambling to replace lost revenue.
  • Reliable fundraisers—like bake sales & car washes—are cancelled.

It’s a difficult time to be planning a marching band season or show choir set. But we can help.

Funding the arts is what we do.  For years, we’ve been helping ensembles buy gear and enhance their programs.

This is our “why.” — We want to help.

Here’s what we’re doing about it:

To help school arts programs kickstart their fundraising, we’re waiving our 15% platform fees.

Here are the highlights:

  • Campaigns are free all summer.
Launch your campaign before January 1, 2021, and we’ll waive your 15% platform fee. (2.9% processing fee still applies.)

  • Supporting FansRaise is optional.
In lieu of the platform fee, we’re asking donors to consider an optional courtesy “tip,” on top of their donation, to keep us in business.

  • Tips cost you nothing.
The optional tip would come from the donor, not the organization—so they won’t come out your bottom line.

A crowdfunding campaign? Now?

Yes, now.

Two recent surveys by Gallup and Durham & Company prove that now is the right time for fundraising.

  • Americans are still giving, even now.
81% of people will continue giving to their favorite charities during the Covid-19 pandemic.

  • Donations are going UP, not down.
25% of Americans plan on INCREASING their donations in the next year.
